I thought it was time for another quilt tutorial! This one I made for a special little lad when he was born and it turned out beautifully. It is a relatively simple quilt, with chevrons as the end result. I think the bright, funky colours made it better. The quilt was made to complement a green, polka dot nursery - do you think I met the brief?

The best thing about this quilt is that you can make it with a bunch of fat quarters or left over fabric blocks!!
What you will need:
- Download the Tight Turns Quilt Pattern here
- Fat Quarters
- Backing Fabric
- Wadding
- Co-ordinating thread
**Note - you will need the pattern for the necessary quantities and measurements of fabrics and quilt blocks. The pattern will be available free for the next month for my avid readers and for a small fee on my Etsy Store thereafter.
2. Using your imagination, position the triangles as demonstrated in the pattern.
3. Sew each block together (a block is two triangles), working horizontally, with a 1/4" seam. Press seam flat.
4. Eventually you will have lots of little squares. Again, working horizontally, sew together the small squares, using a 1/4" seam. Press flat.
5. Now you will have several rows of squares, working vertically this time, stitch each row together, using a 1/4" seam. Press seams flat.
**Tip - to ensure the seams of your blocks line up perfectly, try pinning the rows together before you sew them.
Voila. The quilt front is finished!
Next week, we will complete the quilt by adding wadding, backing and quilting the front.
