Today is the final instalment in our four part series. So far we have tackled a cot valance, fitted sheet and top sheet, with pillowcases the focus of today's post. After we finish today, your little one's cot will be completely fitted out and look great!
Again, you will need both your plain and patterned fabrics from part 1 in the series, along with the contrasting ribbon and thread.
1. Cut two 19 x 16" panels from the plain fabric, one 4 x 16" panel from the pattern fabric and another 9 x 16" panel from the pattern fabric.
2. Attach one plain panel to one pattern panel. Hem the exposed pattern short edge by folding 1/4" and pressing, then folding another 1/4" and sew in place. Repeat with the remaining two panels.
3. Fold the large panel of pattern fabric in half and iron flat. If desired you can sew in place using a 1/4" seam, over the fold.
4. Attach the ribbon, similar to the top sheet and valance, to the panel with the small piece of pattern fabric.
5. Place the two panels, right sides together and line up the fabric seams. Pin and sew together using a 1/4" seam, along the three plain fabric edges.
6. Trim the corners and turn in the right way. And you are done!
Your cot sheet set is now complete! And for under $25, you have to agree, it looks great!
